His Story

FHC: What was your first motorcycle and how long have you been riding?
Dave: ‘72 Kawasaki 500. Pretty used. About 43 years.
2. FHC: What do you ride now, and what's your dream or next bike.
Dave: 1998 FLHTCUI & 2001 FXLR Low Rider
3. FHC: What's your favorite road trip, and your dream riding destination?
Dave: In one year did two trips. 1st to the east coast during Laconia. 2nd to the west
coast, Cape Disappointment.
4. FHC: What's your best advice for new riders, and one item you never ride without?
Dave: Learn to do tight corners. [GAS] Come close riding back from LA, (GAS).
Missed a sign stating “Gas next 89 miles.”
5. FHC: What's the biggest life lesson riding has taught you?
Dave: Listings.
6. FHC: What's something most chapter members don't know about you?
Dave: Just turned 73.
7. FHC: In one sentence, what does riding mean to you?
Dave: As Bob Hofmeister said, “Motorcycling is the carpet ride to youth.”
8. FHC: How long have you been a Faribault H.O.G. Chapter member, and what does
membership mean to you?
Dave: First membership was for 1 year in 1998. Been a stead member since 2001. In
groups of folks, you see all kind of talent.
9. FHC: As one of the longest-standing members of the Faribault H.O.G. Chapter, what
changes have you noticed in the chapter, its members, and the riding community
over the years?
Dave: The group has grown and good and interesting leaders that care.
